Our history and aims
Having been either interested in, or involved in the fetish and BDSM scene
for over 25 years,
and having purchased a wide variety of products,
I had arrived
at the conclusion that most products fall into 3 categories.
1 - Poor quality
goods that don't fit or do what they should at a high price.
2 - good quality
goods that fit better and work better but cost even more.
3 - Custom made items
that are high quality and cost a fortune.
When I met my partner in 2002, and discovered that we had the same fetish and
BDSM interests,
I could not afford to buy her all the toys that I wanted for
her, so I decided to make my own.
As I have a background in carpentry and
engineering this was not a problem.
The problem started when she wore some of
the things that I had made to our local club and people saw them.
The interest was huge, to the point that she agreed to sell the cuffs that
I had made for her
to one of the members.
People kept saying that I should make things to sell and
could I make some bits for them, so the idea was born.
We didn't have a name, and
decided that I would concentrate on the furniture,
as there were few people
making BDSM furniture in the north.
Things all changed when I made the first
floggers and lent them out at the club.
The people went mad for them, so the
focus changed from furniture to toys.
Then the requests for restraints and other
items started to come in.
Things were getting serious, as I never seemed to have
enough time for work and making things for people.
Something had to give, so the
full time job lost out,
and over a couple of beers with some friends the name
was chosen
and Pamelas Playroom was launched.
The product range grew slowly, based on what the customers wanted,
and this
is how we continue to grow, by listening to what you want.
When the company was
started, I decided that there was a need for good quality items
that fit and do
what they are supposed to do, without the high price that other people charged.
That means that most of our products are made to order to the sizes that you
specify,
with the anchor points that you want, and in the material and colour
that you prefer.
Things don't have to be all black,
in fact you can have
restraints in just about any colour you want in matt, semi gloss, or patent
leather,
furniture stained to any colour, and if I can find the material,
leather and PVC clothing in any colour or surface finish you want.
The decision,
as always at Pamelas Playroom, is yours.
All items where ever possible are
original designs and concepts,
as we don't want to copy anyone else outright.
We want to
stand out as being different.
This means that it can be a long time between
product releases,
as I don't want to sell anything that is not right,
and fit for
what it was designed to do.
We weren't going to do clothing so soon, but due to popular demand, and a lot
of pestering
I made a gladiator skirt for some one, and before the pattern had
been made and the design finalised,
the word was out that I was now making
clothing, and orders for leather kilts and tops started to arrive,
then skirts, arm
binders, etc. so if you cant see what you want here,
it doesn't mean
that we don't do it, or cant do it.
Our motto is if you have the idea, we can
make it reality.
Our aims for the future are simple, if not ambitious.
To expand the product
range by listening to what you want,
to venture into the wonderful world of
rubber,
and become the one stop shop for all your fetish and BDSM requirements.
